Make a DifferenceWe at the Agape Pregnancy Resource Center realize that our most valuable resource is our exceptional volunteer staff. Our clients come to us with many difficult issues and we want to serve them with care and integrity. As our mandate includes maintaining a standard of excellence, we are committed to ongoing training. Agape Pregnancy Resource Center relies heavily on the service and commitment of volunteers in their communities. Just remember, God meets the need but you are his instrument. If you have a passion to help women and serve your local community, consider becoming a volunteer. Women ministering to other women in the strength and power of God is the heart and soul of The Agape Pregnancy Resource Center.

Here are some of the many ways that you can further the work of pregnancy centers through volunteer work:

  • Organize fundraising events like banquets, walks, and baby bottle campaigns
  • Provide administrative assistance
  • Serve as a phone consultant or peer counselor
  • Coordinate clothing and diaper drives
  • Distribute promotional items and brochures to local churches, schools, and businesses

Volunteer Positions

PLEASE NOTE: All volunteers working directly with clients MUST be a member in good standing at one of the approved, supporting churches and MUST obtain a letter of recommendation from the pastor of that church.

Peer Counselors

Reaching out to women and men with the compassion of Christ by offering practical assistance in both word and deed as a one-on-one caring helper. Specifically, counselors who will listen, educate, intervene with communication skills, and provide a source of physical, emotional and spiritual hope to the families that seek our free services.

Post Abortion

Assisting women through process of healing in aftermath of abortion. Specifically, leading or co-leading a group (Bible Study/Support Group) as a moderator. Commitment: attend volunteer training, attend a training seminar, co-lead a group; time availability varies with need.

Computer Help

Assisting with client data entry and special projects assigned to the computer literate. For computer technicians: occasional assistance with problems or updating office computers. Commitment: availability to come to center when computer projects are in process; time varies with need.

Earn While You Learn

Once a week volunteers meet with a client who has been to the Agape Pregnancy Resource Center and signed up for the EWYL program. This program teaches clients the fundamentals of parenting, life skills, and biblical studies to aid in self-esteem and the quest for knowledge. They are rewarded with Mommy Points which they use to shop in the boutique to acquire much needed items for their babies and/or themselves. The meetings are scheduled according to the availability of the mentor and the client.

Prayer Team

Praying for specific client situations or needs of the ministry as they arise. Commitment: spending time in prayer over requests given.

Special Events

Assisting in the detail work of the annual events of the ministry in the area of development. Specifically helping with the planning and coordinating. Commitment varies.

Abstinence

Speaking on behalf of teen sexual purity. Commitment: training seminar, meetings, and availability to speak during school year.

Church Liaison

No special training required. . .just a willingness to represent this ministry to your local church fellowship. Representing the ministry to your local church for special events, needs, or concerns of the ministry. Specifically, liaisons provide the contact to the church for the annual Walk/Run for Life, fundraising dinner, Baby Bottle Campaign and other events. Encourage support for special events.

Maintenance Volunteer

Various tasks available on a regular basis like dusting, cleaning the center, sweeping, mopping, mowing the lawn or making various repairs as needed.
